A Brief History.
Bamford's situated in the heart of the Peak District along side the Upper Derwent Valley close to the lost villages of Derwent and Ashopton, which were demolished when the Lady Bower Dam was built. The other two dams, Howden and Derwent reservoirs further up the valley are known for their breath taking beauty and much of the architecture is unchanged from the 18th century also during the 2nd World War the Dambuster Squadron practised using the famous bouncing bombs on the reservoirs.
